QUOTE TOOLS
Tools for comparing real quotes
ClearCarRates publishes benchmarks, not quotes, so its tools work in the order a careful shopper works: diagnose a renewal, prepare, benchmark, then compare. None of these tools estimates a premium. Every number they show is either a published NAIC figure with its source named, or a quote you obtained and typed in yourself.
1. Renewal increase analyzer
Your renewal jumped and the total does not say why. Enter the line items from your old and new declarations pages and see which coverages drove the increase, in dollars and percent, ranked largest first, with what to check on each big driver.
2. Quote shopping checklist
Documents and details to gather, decisions to settle before the first call, when to shop against your renewal date and life events, and the questions that show what a quoted premium hides.
3. Car Rate Checker
Place your state, age band and coverage level next to the published NAIC benchmark before you shop, so you know what a normal range looks like for your situation.
4. Quote comparison worksheet
Enter the quotes you obtained, convert them all to annual premiums, flag any quote whose limits or deductibles do not match, and read the spread against your state benchmark.
Build the quote list
The insurance companies directory profiles auto insurers from their own published pages, with the coverage each lists, the programs each advertises and the eligibility limits each states, so you can choose four to six insurers you can actually buy from before the quoting starts. The quote comparison guide ties the whole sequence together: specification first, facts second, quotes third, benchmark last.
Published averages and benchmarks, not a quote. Not insurance advice. Tools on this page work entirely in your browser; anything you type into them is not sent or saved.
