QUOTE TOOLS
Quote comparison worksheet
Enter the quotes you obtained yourself, one row per insurer. The worksheet converts six month and twelve month quotes to a single annual basis, flags any quote whose limits or deductibles do not match the others, and places every annual figure next to the published NAIC benchmark for your state, the same benchmark behind our state rate index.
This tool does not estimate, predict or generate premiums. Every premium in the table below is a number you typed in from a real quote. If you have not gathered quotes yet, start with the quote shopping checklist, build your list from the insurance companies directory, and read the quote comparison guide for how to fix one specification before you shop.
Short answer: this worksheet compares only quotes you have already obtained, on one annual basis and at identical limits and deductibles. No quotes yet? Use the finder and directory to build a list from the 16 insurers profiled on this site, prepare with the quote shopping checklist, fix one specification with the quote comparison guide, then come back here with the quotes in hand.
Alabama benchmark: $1,388 per year (NAIC 2024 Auto Insurance Database Average Premium Supplement (September 2026), Tables 1C, 4 and 5, verified 2026-10-18). Match the benchmark to the coverage your quotes carry: use the combined figure for quotes with collision and comprehensive, the liability figure for liability-only quotes.
Everything you type stays in your browser. Nothing is sent, saved or shared, and this page sets no record of your quotes. Figures you enter are your own quotes; the only numbers this site supplies are the published NAIC benchmarks. A benchmark is what drivers in a state paid on average in the data year. It is not a quote, not a prediction of your premium, and not insurance advice.
How to read the result
The annual column is the only fair price column: a six month quote doubled and a twelve month quote as stated. The benchmark column is context, not a verdict. In the NAIC 2024 data, the countrywide combined average premium was $1,613, but state figures in our index run from $1,112 in Wisconsin to $2,175 in Florida, and your own record, vehicle and limits move your price away from any average in either direction. A quote moderately above the benchmark with above-average limits is unremarkable. A quote far below both the benchmark and your other quotes is the one to audit for specification drift before you switch.
Where this fits
The Car Rate Checker places your situation next to the benchmark before you shop. This worksheet takes over after you shop, when the numbers are real quotes with your name on them. The tools page lists both, with the checklist that prepares you for the quoting calls.
